Pine decking timber

Premium Pine is a tantalized timber that gives decking a honey colour finish with minimal leaching.

 

Pine is a local renewable timber that comes in narrow (90mm x 32mm) or wide board (140mm x 32mm). Deckreation recommends 32mm for more structural strength. It is classed as a medium durability timber that is softer than hardwood options, however is more tangible in the weather conditions. 

 

Pine has a life expectancy of 25 years for H3.2 treatment. *

Coastal Gum decking wood

Coastal Gum is pale brown decking wood which sometimes has a slight pinkish tinge. It is usually very straight. Its grain can be darker almost black in places giving it a unique rustic look.

Coastal gum comes standard in wide board 130mm x 19mm. Coastal gum grows in coastal forests of New South Wales from Bega on the South Coast up to Maryborough in Queensland Australia and comes from a renewable source.

As all hardwoods coastal gum is untreated it is not recommended to come in contact with the ground. â€‹Coastal gum has a life expectancy of 20 -25 years *​

Kwila timber for decking

Kwila decking is primarily supplied in 90mm and 140mm wide board and 20mm thick.

It also comes in 'dome profile' or 'water shed profile' which is 21mm in the centre of the decking board and 19mm on the outer edges. This allows the water to flow off the decking and in between the gaps when it rains, thus prolonging the life of the timber. â€‹Kwila has a life expectancy of 20 - 25 years. *

Vitex decking timbers

Predominantly used in 140mm wide decking timber with countersunk steel screws but also available in 90mm and 115mm wide. 

​

Vitex is available in 'dome profile' or 'water shed profile' which means it is 21mm in the centre of the board and 19mm at the outer ecges. This allows the water to run off when it rains prolonging the life of the timber. Vitex is grown in a sustainable and renewable source in the Solomon Islands region and surrounding countires.

Vitex decking timber is very hard wearing making it great for exposed areas and around pools, and has a life expectancy of 20 - 25 years. *
